A few words about the sizing of nappies and wraps...
When you're deciding what size to purchase bear in mind that the nappy or wrap will fit most babies 'best' in the middle of the weight range it's designed to cover. So, a nappy that is designed to fit a baby from 18lb - 35lb will probably fit your baby best at around the 25lb mark. At the lower end of the weight range a nappy is likely to be bulky and a wrap may gape around the legs and at the top end of the weight range the unique shape of your baby may mean the things are a bit skimpy and may be more prone to leaking or making the skin a little red from pressure.
As a general rule, it's more important that the wrap is a good fit than the nappy - it is after all the final line of defence! This is why wraps come in more sizes with smaller weight ranges. So, although you may be able to use a size 2 or Large nappy on your 15lb baby you are still best opting for a wrap that is sized to fit your baby rather than jumping straight to the next size up.
Please always bear in mind that the weight ranges recommended by the manufacturers are general guidelines. Each of your babies is differently proportioned and a nappy or wrap that fits one 10lb baby perfectly may be far too loose, or indeed to small, on another baby of exactly the same weight. This is obviously much more likely to be the case at the extremes of the weight ranges and as babies grow into unique two year olds the differences can be greater. So, if you buy a product that claims to fit up to 35lbs and it is far too small for your 'within the weight range' toddler simply return it to us (unwashed/unworn and resalable) for a refund or exchange and let us know about the fit so we can add your experience to our product information to share with future visitors to the site...
