'All-in-ones' are the closest to disposables in terms of appearance and how they work. They consist of an absorbent layered, shaped liner that provides the absorbency and have a fixed waterproof outer wrap to keep the wet in.
The downside of traditional all-in-ones was the drying time, as the layers couldn't be laundered and dried separately. However, recent developments in fabric technology and design mean that these are now much more flexible and offer a genuine 'full-time' nappy option.
They do, also, provide a handy part-time option for childminders, nursery etc. where you may find a reluctance to deal with cloth nappies. Likewise, they are a good solution for mums and babes on the move as they are really no different to a disposable when it comes to performing a quick change!

Updated to take account of user feedback this nappy is larger to fit more toddlers through to potty training. It also has a harder wearing laminated outer (without compromising the soft touch) that wears better so less pilling of the brushed outer layer.
Functionality remains versatile...
This is one of the 'new generation' of AIO nappies that are set to revolutionise the cloth nappy scene!
Effectively an 'all-in-two' nappy, the design addresses all the issues traditionally associated with washing drying , fit and containment that have made AIO nappies among the most wanted but least successful of our range.
The nappy is effectively a wrap with a combination insert that attaches with poppers to make the nappy an all-in-one once it's constructed.
The outer wrap is waterproof and made from a combination of high-tech fabrics that result in a super-soft wrap that looks and feels like brushed cotton but is in fact incredibly reliable and wick-resistant. Tests on our super mobile, heavy wetting 2 year old boy were impressive and we're also liking it on the latest addition - currently 4 months!
The wrap has Aplix fastenings with super stretchy tabs to make getting a good fit easy every time. It also has leg gussets to improve fit and containment from birth. The poppers that are used to attach the absorbent inner are covered with a soft, waterproof flap for added reliability and comfort.
The absorbent inner is made from soft, stretchy bamboo terry (it's a short pile bamboo terry rather than a loopy terry) and consists of two shaped boosters that pop together and then poppper to the wrap.
These can be used separately (from birth) or together making the nappy as bulky/absorbent as you desire/need depending on circumstances and the age and needs of your baby etc.
(In addition, there is a 'night booster' - available separately, see 'boosters' in 'accessories' - which looks a little like a prefold with elasticated seams. This is wrapped around the standard inner and poppers together to keep it in place and adds several more layers of super-absorbent bamboo for use overnight or on long car journeys etc. It's easy to attach, stays in place and can be used with either/both inners for the ideal level of absorbency.
The pop-in comes in a lovely selection of unisex colours as follows:
coconut = white
duck egg = teal
pistachio = pale green
custard = pale yellow
pumpkin = pale orange
In addition, as the absorbent parts of the nappy come apart for washing and drying, while bamboo is traditionally very slow to dry we've found this nappy dries in less than 48 hours in most circumstances.
The wrap has 'soft tabs' to attach the Aplix tabs to during laundering.
