Shaped nappies are essentially the inside bit of a two-part nappy system. They are made of terry, fleece or a combination of the two and fasten with velcro/aplix or poppers. They require a separate waterproof wrap to keep the wet in.
These are all 'sized' nappies which means you'll need to buy 2 or possibly 3 sizes to get frm newborn to potty trained. Although this is a more costly option than using 'birth to potty' nappies the advatages include better fitting nappies and less bulk on newborn babies.

A new design for 2007! This is the same slim, absorbent hemp nappy that's become a firm favourite but now the 'soaker' (the absorbent core) that was previously hidden away in the centre of the nappy and slowed down the drying time is a handy booster that is sewn in at one end only and flaps out to greatly speed up drying time and aid the washing process too as the less layers sewn together the better the water and detergent can circulate through the nappy in the washing machine.
Made from hemp rather than cotton this is a lovely soft stretchy nappy that provides a great level of absorbency with minimum bulk.
Because hemp is more absorbent weight-for-weight than cotton this is not a bulky nappy and yet we find it more than adequate as a day nappy.
Hemp is also more eco-friendly than cotton, being a hardier plant that requires less chemical weedkillers to produce a good crop.
Although hemp is fairly slow drying compared to cotton this nappy is slim enough to compete with the slimmest cotton alternatives on our drying rack...

No longer necessary to boost between the nappy and wrap, just add boosters to the pocket.
