Shaped nappies are essentially the inside bit of a two-part nappy system. They are made of terry, fleece or a combination of the two and fasten with velcro/aplix or poppers. They require a separate waterproof wrap to keep the wet in.
Two part nappy systems such as those listed here are easier to boost than all in ones, and can therefore offer greater flexibility in terms of absorbency.
These are all 'sized' nappies which means you'll need to buy 2 or possibly 3 sizes to get frm newborn to potty trained. Although this is a more costly option than using 'birth to potty' nappies, the advantages include better fitting nappies and less bulk on newborn babies.

Made from gorgeous, soft, long loop terry - this is a lovely nappy.
It's lined with cotton jersey so the nappy has no synthetic fabric making it great for delicate newborn skin and the cotton jersey will stay soft in even the hardest water.
As simple as can be, it has long wings that pull round to fasten with a nappi nippa (the best way to get a good fit on a most babies in our opinion).
The newborn nappy is sized to fit up to around 18lb with generous 'wings' to enable a good fit on rapidly growing newborn babies. The size 2 will fit from 18lb up to around 35lb.
We've classed this nappy as 'medium' based on our absorbency tests - the newborn size has one less layer of terry in it's core and may need boosting towards the end of the weight range and the size 2 also may need boosting for a heavy wetter but both sizes are dependable and make great day time nappies for most babies.
We think this nappy is great value for money!
