Shaped nappies are essentially the inside bit of a two-part nappy system. They are made of terry, fleece or a combination of the two and fasten with velcro/aplix or poppers. They require a separate waterproof wrap to keep the wet in.
Two part nappy systems such as those listed here are easier to boost than all in ones, and can therefore offer greater flexibility in terms of absorbency.
These are all 'sized' nappies which means you'll need to buy 2 or possibly 3 sizes to get frm newborn to potty trained. Although this is a more costly option than using 'birth to potty' nappies, the advantages include better fitting nappies and less bulk on newborn babies.

The Popolini Two Size, as the name suggests, comes in just two sizes to take baby comfortably from birth to potty training. It fastens with poppers at the hip and waist, and is very well elasticated, making it an excellent poo catcher.
Small size fits babies from around 8 - 20lbs, and Large fits from about 20 - 35lbs. For babies above that weight we recommend trying the Mother-ease Sandy's XL (Toddle-ease).
This nappy requires a separate waterproof outer and works particularly well with the Popo Wrap and the Mother-ease Rikki Wrap. Thirsties and Nature Babies wraps will also be suitable with this nappy.
