Shaped nappies are essentially the inside bit of a two-part nappy system. They are made of terry, fleece or a combination of the two and fasten with velcro/aplix or poppers. They require a separate waterproof wrap to keep the wet in.
These are all 'sized' nappies which means you'll need to buy 2 or possibly 3 sizes to get frm newborn to potty trained. Although this is a more costly option than using 'birth to potty' nappies the advatages include better fitting nappies and less bulk on newborn babies.

swaddlebees - organic cotton velour
Simply a gorgeous nappy made from incredibly plush organic cotton velour (velour is a technical term that describes the construction of the fabric).
Swaddlebees are a 'side-snapping' nappy (rather than fastening at the front) so have a slim profile and give maximum absorbency for minimum bulk.
A total of 7 absorbent layers (organic cotton velour on the inside and outside and hemp jersey/hemp french terry sandwiched between for absorbency and a two layer flap-out booster to aid drying time.)
The outer velour layers will stay soft even when washed in hard water.
Can be pulled up and down for older toddlers who is on the verge of potty training.
Available in 3 sizes and a range of gorgeous bright pastel colours.

swaddlebees - organic cotton velour - newborn
Absolutely the cutest newborn nappy we've seen! Every baby should own at least one...
Modelled on the larger organic cotton velour nappy but with 'serged' edges for a less bulky fit at the sides it fastens with poppers and is available in a range of gorgous 'bright' pastels.
This is a clever variation on the popular Swaddlebees organic cotton nappy that makes it not only more versatile but cheaper too!
Effectively a 'pocket' for stuffing it comprises a gorgeous organic cotton velour outer and inner (coloured nappies are natural inside) so that you can add the stuffing of your choice to get the bulk and absorbency right for your baby.
As a result it's also much quicker to dry...
Don't forget this nappy does still need a waterproof wrap!
As per the organic cotton velour 'pocket' (see above) but with a plain hemp outer so a fraction cheaper and also slightly more absorbent before you add stuffing!
