Pocket style nappies are a kind of halfway house between all-in-ones and shaped nappies. A waterproof, lined wrap style nappy that has an integral pocket which is then stuffed with absorbent material to the level required.
Great for those that don't have a tumble drier as the stuffing is removed for washing so you effectively have a flat nappy and a wrap to dry separately.
Stuffing
You can use anything absorbent to stuff a pocket nappy, it's about getting the balance between absorbency and bulk right for your circumstances. Here are some options:
Terry square - pad folded (very absorbent but bulky)
Prefold (absorbent, fairly bulky)
Shaped terry pocket nappy insert (medium absorbency, medium bulk)
Hemp pocket nappy insert (absorbent, slim)
Microfibre cloths (medium absorbency, very slim)
Many people find that a combination of these things work well in different circumstances, for example, terry squares with a microfibre cloth for night time and hemp for day time...

The fleece 'pouch' opens at both ends for easy stuffing and is also designed to allow the insert to come out of a soiled nappy in the washing machine so there's no need to fiddle around trying to shake the insert out of a dirty nappy before putting it in the bucket!
