Although terry squares get a bad press and are seen as being old-fashioned - a remnant of the 'bad old days' of cloth nappies they are incredibly versatile and we've sourced some lovely unbleached cotton terries that have a multitude of uses...
Prefolds are ideal to use with a close fitting wrap and can be used pad folded in a close fitting wrap, or alternatively as a folded pad with a pocket style nappy.
Contours are really just shaped prefolds, a little easier to use, maybe a bit less versatile. The ones we've sourced are gorgeous candy coloured cotton fleece made by Kissaluvs...
The Disana tie-on nappy is soft, organic and contrary to appearances you don't need an origami qualification to use it!

This is a very economical, simple nappy. Made from very soft knitted organic cotton this is essentially a flat nappy that is folded around the baby and then tied on.
In itself not an absorbent nappy, it is easily boosted with just about anything making it very versatile.
We stock the Disana brushed cotton booster which is a 40x40cm square of absorbent cotton that can be pad-folded into a booster shape and placed in the nappy with great effect. However, this nappy can be boosted with anything absorbent from face flannels to a prefold or terry square...
At first glance it may appear that an origami qualification is required but with minimal instruction and a little practice it's an easy task to master!
We strongly recommend washing this nappy with the ties loosely tied and the nappies in a nappy mesh (see accessories) as the ties can easily become tangled in the washing machine...
This may also not be the best choice of nappy for a wriggly baby that likes to escape halfway through a nappy change!
With no synthetic components, poppers, aplix etc. and made from organic cotton this is a lovely nappy for the purists among us!

junior joy - prefold
These are great quality prefolds made from 100% cotton.
They consist of 3 panels - the central panel comprises 8 layers and the outer panels are 4 layers. Use folded into a simple pad inside a wrap - no pins required - or in a pocket style nappy.
Easy to care for, wash at up to 90 degrees and quick to dry. Less absorbent than a terry nappy but changing slightly more often deals with this.
Makes for a very efficient and economical nappy system.
Approximate dimensions (unwashed):
Small - 44cm x 33cm (18" x 13") approx.
Regular - 56cm x 37cm (22" x 15") approx.
Toddler - 60cm x 44cm (24" x 18") approx.
For identification purposes the Small prefolds have pale green stitching, the Regular have blue stitching and the Toddler size have orange stitching!

These are gorgeous traditional terry squares made from 100% unbleached cotton. They have soft cotton binding around the edge and softly rounded corners. They are luxuriously soft and fluffy and as well as being great for using traditionally folded and pinned or fastened with a nappi nippa they are also great pad-folded inside a pocket-style nappy.
We always carry one out and about in our changing bag to use for drying off at changing time, or as a soft cover for a cold plastic changing mat!

This 'newborn' terry square is made from the same soft unbleached cotton as the traditional size but is just 40 x 40 cms making it perfect for a tiny newborn.
It has softly bound edges and gently rounded corners.
Use folded as a simple triangle or kite on a newborn or alternatively pad-fold into thirds and use inside a snug-fitting wrap (we recommend the XS Mother-ease Rikki wrap)
Once your baby has outgrown this size terry square it can be used as a booster inside a larger nappy or getneral mopping up cloth so isn't as extravagant a purchase as you might think!

High quality muslin squares useful as a newborn nappy, additional insert for heavy wetters or at night or as a general purpose mopping up cloth!
They are also very generously sized (80x80cm approx.) compared to the muslin squares sold by most high street stores.
