The ultimate in wrap luxury... wool is soft, absorbent and has its own built in water resistance (which is why sheep don't mind standing out in the rain!) Wool wraps are expensive but it's a price a lot of people consider worth paying. As night wraps, you can't beat a wool wrap for comfort and protection from wet clothes and bedding. They need a bit of extra care to retain their waterproof qualities but as compensation a good airing will suffice instead of washing most of the time (unless soiled by 'solids' of course!)
This may look a little strange at first glance - it's very hard to do it justice in a photo - but it really is a very effective, good value wool wrap.
With no poppers or aplix to complicate things, these pull-on pants are simple to use and fit over pretty much any shaped nappy or folded terry square.
Wool wraps require a little more care and attention than PUL or fleece wraps but it's a simple process once you know how! Treating with lanolin - or wool cure - around once a month will keep your wrap water resistant and in between a good airing will neutralise smells so you only need to wash if soiled or when the wrap fails to smell fresh after a day on the line or clothes airer.
This wrap will shrink a little with washing as the wool tightens up, we also recommend treating with lanolin before using...

This is a fantastic night wrap and well worth the initial cost in our opinion. It is velcro fastening and quite slim fitting for a wool wrap.
Although it is not 'water proof' in the same way that a PUL/PVC wrap is, the wool absorbs wetness very slowly and will provide a barrier to clothes and bedding for most babies. in addition the wool allows more of the wetness to evaporate during the night so your baby won't have sweaty skin around the edges of the nappy as you might expect with a wrap that holds all the moisture in.
You will need to handwash this wrap, which may seem a hassle, but it is usually possible to reuse the wrap several times with only airing in between. These wraps also benefit from treatment with a specialist wool treatment on a regular basis as the lanolin that provides the water resistance needs topping up from time to time. We stock a suitable treatment wash, you'll find it in the accessories area of the site.
