The ultimate in wrap luxury... wool is soft, absorbent and has its own built in water resistance (which is why sheep don't mind standing out in the rain!) Wool wraps are expensive but it's a price a lot of people consider worth paying. As night wraps, you can't beat a wool wrap for comfort and protection from wet clothes and bedding. They need a bit of extra care to retain their waterproof qualities but as compensation a good airing will suffice instead of washing most of the time (unless soiled by 'solids' of course!)
These beautifully hand knitted 'shorties' are perfect for showing off, wonderfully cosy and offer exceptional performance.
One of the biggest drawbacks of using wool full time is the difficulties experienced with wicking when clothes are worn over the top of a wool wrap. These shorties eradicate the need for trousers/skirts needing only to be teamed with t-shirt to provide the perfect summer outfit.
They are dyed using 'Kool Aid' (a powdered soft drink from the US) to give vivid, variagated colour.
The waist has a coordinating drawstring tie for added adjustability.
Currently available in two colourways, 'Summer Fruits'(pinks, purples & reds) or 'Lemon Ice' (greens, lemons and blues).
'Summer Fruits' colourway has a gently fluted leg hem, whereas 'Lemon Ice' is a simple rib making it completely unisex (not that we have anything against boys wearing frilly woolly pants!)
Use over any shaped nappy or pinned/nippa'd terry etc.
Treat as per any wool wrap/pant with lanolin wool cure every few weeks and hand wash with gentle wool soap (e.g. olive) to maintain water resistance.
As each batch of yarn is dyed to order some variance in colour and intensity is inevitable and images are representative of the kinds of colours/patterns you may receive.
